William Smales

Partner and Chief Investment Officer, Morrison

William is a Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Morrison, where he leads the firm’s global investment platform. He is responsible for investment strategy, origination, execution and portfolio management across Morrison’s infrastructure investment activities, working closely with regional and product leaders to drive investment performance and develop sector expertise across the business. He is a member of Morrison’s Investment Committee and Management Team.

Prior to joining Morrison in 2013, William spent seven years with The Carlyle Group in London, where he was a Principal focused on private equity investments. He currently serves on the boards of CDC Data Centres and Kao Data. William holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
