Ross Barrows is an Equity Research Analyst who heads up Wilsons Advisory’s Technology Research franchise in Melbourne, Australia. Ross has 25 years’ experience in financial services having worked in both Australia and the US. He joined Wilsons Advisory in mid-2020 and before that spent 13 years at Citigroup where he led the Small Cap Equity Research franchise. Prior to Citigroup, he worked in both Corporate Finance and High Net Worth advisory roles in Melbourne and San Francisco (Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and then Thomas Weisel Partners).

Ross’ approach to research is one of both breadth and depth; keeping a broad enough lens to stay abreast of the ongoing evolution of the technology sector while ‘diving-deep’ into specific topics to analyse the granularity when and where needed. Earlier this year he published a detailed Digital Infrastructure report titled “GenAI to Drive ‘Gen-Sational’ Growth, and 2026 Could be the Year of Agentic AI”, which he is happy to share with those who are interested in it.

Ross has an MBA from the Melbourne Business School which included an exchange program at the Anderson School at UCLA. He also holds a Bachelor of Business in Economics & Finance (Distinction) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology which included an exchange program at Pennsylvania State University.
