Nico Walters is the founder of Matchpoint Telecom Advisory and a former Chief Innovation Officer at CMC Networks, where he directed network infrastructure investment and commercial transformation across 65 countries including the CAPEX/OPEX trade-offs that define how operators build, buy, and scale carrier-grade networks. With over 20 years of operator-side experience spanning carrier infrastructure, IP transit, cloud connectivity, and AI-driven operations, he brings a practitioner's lens to the capital allocation and infrastructure decisions now facing the industry. As a strategic advisor, he is actively engaged in how operators turn physical and logical infrastructure into intelligent, commercially productive assets fit for the AI era. He has represented the operator and vendor community at ITW, Capacity Europe, and Mplify for over a decade.
