Supervisor Michael R. Turner was elected to represent the Ashburn District on the Board of Supervisors in November 2019 and reelected in 2023. He was elected by his fellow Board members to serve as Vice Chair in 2025.

He serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors Transportation and Land Use Committee and represents Loudoun on the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board. 

As of July 2025, Supervisor Turner is the Chair of the National Association of Counties’ (NACo) Energy, Environment, and Land Use steering committee. This committee covers matters such as air and water quality, climate change, renewable energy, land use, and waste management.

Supervisor Turner is also the Chair of the Virginia Association of Counties’ (VACo) Environment, Energy, and Land Use steering committee. This committee covers environment, affordable and reliable electricity, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and land use issues.
