Gareth Jones
is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BAAC Construction, one of Canada's fastest growing infrastructure companies specializing in civil construction, digital infrastructure, and long haul fiber networks across North America.
With more than two decades of experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, Gareth has built BAAC around a simple belief that the future of artificial intelligence depends on the physical infrastructure that connects it. Under his leadership, the company has expanded beyond traditional construction to develop next generation dark fiber corridors designed specifically to support AI infrastructure at scale.
BAAC is pioneering the use of abandoned, decommissioned, and underutilized pipeline and rail rights of way to accelerate the deployment of physically diverse long haul fiber networks across North America. This approach reduces permitting complexity, shortens development timelines, and enables faster delivery of critical connectivity for hyperscalers, neocloud providers, data center developers, and frontier AI companies.
Today, BAAC is in active Master Services Agreement discussions with hyperscalers and is working with AI infrastructure customers to build the fiber backbone required for the next generation of AI compute.
Gareth is a recognized voice on the convergence of infrastructure, energy, and artificial intelligence. His work focuses on solving one of the industry's most pressing challenges by building the physical networks that will enable the future of AI.
